I collect because I enjoy it! Not necessarily to 'heal my inner child', but because these are still interests that I have even as an adult. The ones that are child-geared interests, of course.
My Little Pony has quite possibly been my longest standing interest. It's been in my life since before I can remember. I grew up during the time Hasbro was changing gears from Generation 3 to Generation 4, and at the same time I was on the internet for the first time. Most of my ponies were put up in bins by the time I was in middle school, but they always kept a very special place in my house. It wasn't until we moved in 2020 that I really got into collecting ponies hardcore, as my new room was finally entirely mine. With some help from my parents, I was able to shop locally for more and more ponies. I now have over 1000 unique ponies in my collection!
I am active on TikTok, Facebook, and go to in person pony events when I can.
Monster High is a much newer interest of mine. As a child, I had the wave one Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo, and Deuce dolls. With how expensive they were at the time, and how fragile they were for small-me, my parents were never able to justify buying them. This didn't stop me from watching the webisodes and movies, but I eventually fell out of it. I considered it to be an interest on the backburner up until the release of the Boo-riginal Creeproduction dolls were released, and it was like a switch flipped in my head! I was able to find Frankie, and then the other 3 later that day in-stores. I've only gone farther and farther into this interest with the release of Generation 3, as they have my heart entirely!

When I was a small child, my uncle (who was simply my dads best friend at the time) and I would trade Skelanimals regularly. I'd pick one out, my dad would buy it, and then next time I saw my uncle he had one to give me in return. My favorite Skelanimal for the longest time was the pink glow-in-the-dark Kit plush. I would even bring it to school! Unfortunately, my uncle committed suicide in a year that I cannot remember at the time of writing this. Skelanimals were on the backburner (perhaps for my own good) until we moved. That's when I found some of the old plushies he gave me and I broke a little bit. I put them away, and Skelanimals returned to the backburner until recently. Hot Topic has been making a comeback with Skelanimals, and I've been doing everything I can do keep up! I almost never leave the house withou a Skelanimal being somewhere on my clothing or jewelry.
